Why Most Women Don't Wear Makeup For Guys

When you hear why most people judge women for wearing makeup, one of the big reasons is: "You're only wearing it to impress men." But is that true at all? Well, for a lot of women and I do mean a lot, it's nowhere near true.

When you speak to most women about why they take the time to apply makeup you're usually going to get the response that they do it for themselves. To make themselves feel good. It's the extra time during the day that they spend on themselves and nobody else. Those precious minutes that they focus on their needs and their wants. Whether you're doing a full face, some lipstick and mascara, or just a little lip balm and concealer. For those moments it's all about you and how you want to present yourself. Why does that have to involve the approval of a man?

But see, that's a recurring theme in the lives of women. No matter what we do it's always tied back to trying to impress a man or one up other women in the pursuit of a man. Believe it or not, 100% of most women's days are not dedicated to the men in our lives and if we take some time to make ourselves feel good and accentuate certain aspects of ourselves that we're proud of, then who is anyone to put us down for that?

"Men like natural beauty.", well good for them. Who said wearing makeup makes you some sort of fake? That's like saying dressing up for dinner or an important event is fake. Yep, don't put on that suit guys. You're just trying to show off for the opposite sex, amirite? Oh yeah, that's not how that works. Is it?

Well, let's not put that kind of judgement on women, shall we?

And for the record: I'm focusing on women who wear makeup because that's who these kinds of insults are directed at. I'm going to talk about the stigmas surrounding men who wear makeup another time.

My overall message here is: Do what makes you happy and don't infringe on someone else's ability to do the same.
