Skincare Products for Your Everyday Face Needs

Skincare is a big step in making your makeup look good. Your skin is your canvas and you can't paint on a rough canvas, now can you?

Whether your striving for healthy for the sake of healthy skin or you want your makeup to turn out better (It's a valid concern. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.),

Here are my product recs for a healthy and smooth complexion.

Basis Cleaner Clean Face Wash
Let's start with a basic every day facial cleanser. Basis is what I use. It's gel based which means it won't clog your pores and it's refreshing with it's mint, lemongrass, and aloe ingredients so it's perfect for summer for hot summer days when your skin needs some loving after the hot sun is beating down on you. Because the aloe is also a soothing ingredient it's perfect for fall and winter when the harsh winds and drying cold can suck all of the moisture from your skin.

Garnier Clean+ Shine Control Cleansing Gel
If you want/need a deeper cleanser look no further than Garnier's shine control cleansing gel. It's perfect for those of us who tend to air on the more oily skin type (I'm combination myself) who want to remove those excess oils and keep your face matte throughout the day. It's infused with bits of charcoal, which will draw out those impurities that get deep down in our pores and are hard to get rid of.

Garnier Clean+ Blackhead Eliminating Scrub
One of the important parts of your skin regime is having a nice exfoliate to use once a week when you really want to get into your pores and make sure nothing is clogging up your skin and leading to rampant breakouts. This is a perfect scrub for that. It's not too abrasive so if you need to go for two uses a week it won't harm your skin or irritate it. It has charcoal beads in it that will draw out those impurities but also tighten your skin for a more smooth to the touch feeling.

Apricot Scrub (Generic brand or St. Ives)
Sweet smelling but hard working. I've fallen in love with using a apricot scrubs since the age of thirteen. They've worked wonders during those times when I really needed to whip my skin into shape. Just be warned: the walnut shell pieces that usually inhabit these scrubs are very rough but they work wonders. Make sure not to overuse this product as it can be abrasive to the skin if used too often. I haven't run into this problem but for those with sensitive skin, do me a favor and be easy on your face. There's salicylic acid in this scrub so it's an effective acne product that will work to specifically clear your skin.

Bonus reccomendation: Witch Hazel
Witch Hazel works as a natural astringent that will cleanse your skin, kill bacteria, and smooth out your face for the day. Just get a cotton pad and wipe some on in the morning before starting your day. It also smells amazing.
